Mr. Matthews hails from the Greater New Orleans region. Raised in the Westbank, he attended West Jefferson Senior High School, where he received his diploma in 2001. Following graduation from high school, Mr. Matthews enlisted in the USMC to work as a helicopter technician. From 2001 to 2006, he proudly served as a Corporal. One of his duty tours was in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. 2008 saw Mr. Matthews graduate from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and History. In 2011, he subsequently graduated with a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. He worked as Judge John T. Noonan’s judicial extern throughout his law school years at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
