From 1974 to 1990, I worked as an assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office in Maryland, as well as a deputy state attorney in Prince George’s County for 15 years, during which I oversaw 50 prosecutors. I have focused my practice for the past thirty years on defending people and organizations that are being investigated or charged with breaking state and federal criminal laws. I attempted more than 300 jury trials and managed appeals in local and federal courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia. He received the Maryland State Bar Association’s 2009 Heeney Award for career achievement in criminal law.
And was selected by the Governor to the Prince George’s County Trial Courts Nominating Commission, which examines candidates for judicial positions on the Circuit and District Courts of Prince George’s County. Currently serve on the Maryland Criminal Pattern Jury Instruction Committee. Prevas before earning his degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1996.
